The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is providing technical and financial assistance for drought recovery.
Livestock Forage Disaster Program
The Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) can help eligible livestock producers recover from 2021 grazing losses due to drought. The LFP provides payments to eligible livestock owners and contract growers that have suffered loss of grazed forage due to drought. Ag producers located in D2, D3, or D4 drought level areas may be eligible.
LFP benefits may also be available for grazing acres losses due to wildfires on federally managed lands on which a producer is prohibited, by a federal agency, from grazing normally permitted livestock.
Producers who are affected by the drought are encouraged to contact their local FSA office to learn more about the LFP and how to apply.
