DETAILS & ELIGIBILITY

Are you a Native American youth looking to start a Native agriculture business or to enhance your current agriculture business plan? Akiptan is proud to announce the Native Youth Maȟkhíčhaŋyaŋpi (the Lakota word for Agriculture) Business Plan Contest. 

 

This agriculture business contest aims to help students who are interested in the Native agriculture industry to develop or build on their agriculture business plan. Technical assistance will be provided to build your business plan.  The contest requires a submission of two parts:​ 1) Written business plan 2) Recorded video business plan pitch​

Cash Prizes!

 

  • Have a passion for the Native Agriculture Food Industry 

  • Have an idea or current Native Ag business idea for their community 

  • Are eager to learn more about refining and building their business plan 

  • Have the ability to clearly communicate their business idea to Native ag industry leaders and youth

 

 

  • Must be a Native American citizen in the United States

  • Must be in the age range of 16-18 years old 

  • The business plan must be uplifting the Native Agriculture Industry. Agribusiness can be anything in the agriculture industry for example; cattle ranch, buffalo ranch, fishery, value added, meat processing center, beekeeping, garden, or any agriculture business in the industry. 

  • Must submit a written agriculture business plan 

  • Must submit a 1 to 5 minute verbal business plan pitch video recording
